Do you take good care of your skin?
I was inspired to write this entry after chatting with a friend (I won't reveal her identity). She apparently can't be bothered with all the brands, products, types, lines, fragrances, instructions, ingredients...well, you get the picture. Is it really a bother? Or has she not realized the true benefits of moisterizing?
I started when I was younger. I guess seeing my mom have smoother skin than me really hit me hard. I was hoping it naturally runs in the family. Over the years, skin care has become a habit, no, more like a natural reflex. Wash, scrub, rinse, moisterize. Must not deviate.
Over the years (let's not state how many), I have collected some tips that are applicable to me. I want to share it with you. Perhaps you can give me your tips too!
1. When moisterizing my face, I use the remainder on my neck, it'll help smooth out fine lines! And be honest, we all have them!!!
2. When I brush my teeth, I brush my lips at the end. This helps to get rid of dead skin, making my lips more refreshed (okay, don't stare at my lips next time you see me!)
3. When I have a pimple, I don't moisterize that part of my skin. I find that the moisterizer somehow feeds the pimple...
4. When going to weddings, do a hydrating mask the night before. This will help makeup to stay on smoother and more natural the next day. But avoid the eyes, they might get puffy from the water content.
5. When I sleep, I put Vaseline on my lips and hands. I then wear gloves for the whole night. You'll have super smooth hands and lips when you wake up!
6. Drink a glass of warm water in the morning. It'll help start your system (like warming up your car in the winter).
7. In the morning, I only wash my face with water. Using soap 2 times a day really dries out my skin. I use a lighter moisterizer for the morning.
8. Use sunblock always!!! The one I use now is awesome! It's Sunguard 30 from Fancl House. Thanks Carrie for introducing it to me!!!
9. I use a scrub about once a week. I find this really helps in removing dead skin and making my skin feel younger. But don't use if you have pimples, the scrubbing action will increase the blood flow.
This is as many as I think of for now. Of course, feel free to share your thoughts! If I think of more later, I'll keep posting it...I know I've got a lot of beauty-conscience friends out there...
Remember, take care of your skin and your skin with take care of you.
Until next time, beautiful ladies!
