New "Neighbours"

We just found out yesterday that my mom and I don't live alone!!! We have found new "neighbours" in the basement...

As you might have already guessed, we might have mice (or other rodents) problems...

My mom was doing laundry and heard some noise from the basement ceiling. Then, some dust came down which confirmed the neighbours existence...

Now, we have whole bunch of questions:
-What do we do???
-Do we hire an exterminator?
-How can we tell what kind of neighbours we have?
-Would you happen to know a good exterminator?
-Is there anything we can do at this point?
