This afternoon, Yusuf and I decided to visit the Canadian Bridal Show at the Metro Convention Center. We don't intend to do a lot of the wedding purchasing in Toronto, but we still needed to look at tux rental (mostly for the bestman), limosine rentals (if budget allows), and some other stuff like photography and decorations.
I must say we had some nice surprises. We were actually expecting it to be more crowded there, perhaps due to the rainy weather, there were not too many people and we were able to get through all the booths in less than 2 hours time. In that short time, we not only visited all the tuxedo rentals and limosine rentals booths, we were able to spend most of our time talking to photographers (which we also need to start looking for) and look at the different styles of photography - Yusuf is very into photography...
The next item we saw lots of were cakes!!! One booth even had a chocolate fountain and a sampling table. They had many beautiful dummy cakes for display, which gave us a few good ideas for our own, but unfortunately, I can't really recall the name of the cake decor...Just Temptations? I think that's the name.
Of course, what's a wedding without the wedding gown??? There was a fashion show going on while we were there, but we just focused on going through all the booths that we actually decided to skip it. It actually worked out really well because there were less people at the booths during the time and we were able to zip through.
So, 2 hours later, we were $24 poorer for parking plus admission fee, 20 pounds heavier from all the mazagines and pamphlets and biz cards, and that much more hungrier from all the walking.
"Let's take another cake sample and call it a day."
After that, we also ate a hotdog from the closest hotdog stand.
