300

It's been a while since we watched a movie together...I think our last movie was The Departed.

We decided to watch "300" because we both like the ancient history war type films. This movie is about Leonidas - King of Sparta, led an army of 300 Spartans to fight the Persians in the name of freedom.

It was a very exciting movie, with all the big war scenes and really good make up job (meaning there are some ugly characters). The movie was just under 2 hours long, but the 2 hours just flew by quickly. There wasn't a dull moment, but beware, there are some gruesome segments.

In general, I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5!

I've heard of stories about Spartans before, and know that their training philosophy is very tough but one that is proven to work. After watching the movie, I became even more impressed with this tribe of people and started reading more about the history of Sparta on Wikipedia.
