Hot yoga!!!

Earlier this evening, a good friend and I went to a hot yoga session at Moksha Yoga in Markham. They just recently opened and my friend's mom is working there as a part-time receptionist. So, we decided to give it a try!

I was nervous to go at first because my body doesn't respond well with heat. I had 2 instances in the past where I nearly passed out due to heat. Since I was going with a friend, I felt safe to try.

The session was 90 minutes in length and the room is around 37-39 C. It's not really that hot, Toronto heatwaves are worse....and if you are from HK, you have NOTHING to worry about! The instructor started off with some poses standing up, and within 10 minutes, I was already feeling some tickling sensation on my back. It's my sweat! Honestly, I never sweated so much in my life! It's a good feeling, and make sure you bring plenty of water to replenish during the session. After some standing poses, then we laid down to do more yoga and finally did some more poses sitting.

I felt really great after the session! It always feels very refreshing to do yoga and especially in the heat, my muscles were more flexible than in room temperature. I even noticed that my skin was much smoother (maybe because of all the sweating) and it still felt smooth 2 days after!

They have a special before the end of August when you buy coupons for 10 lessons or 20 lessons. I would highly recommend that you give it a try!

A word of caution though: if you really cannot do some of the poses, don't force yourself, really listen to your body! You will regret afterwards!
