Giving Thanks

This past weekend was Thanksgiving Long weekend and it is always the perfect time to reflect about what we are thankful for.

Just this past weekend, we had the opportunity to meet up with my relatives who were visiting from San Francisco and HK. Some of them I haven't seen in at least 10+ years! Although it felt a little strange (and quiet) at first, but halfway into the meal, we were chatting and laughing away, as if time hasn't been lost. It felt good to see them again after so many years. It made me realize one thing even more, family always remain family.

Not only was I able to see my relatives from HK, I also got a chance to meet up with some old friends from highschool. Some of them came to visit from HK for a wedding and even with their short stay in Toronto, we were able to find time to meet up! We talked about our ups and down, shared our aspirations and goals...Good friends are golden.

Lastly, I'm thankful for my health. I just heard of this sad news that one of my friends has been diagnosed with cancer. The silver lining is that she is only in the first stage, so it is considered early and the recovery rate is high. But, this really made me think of many things. It once again reminded me that life is precious. We should treasure every minute of it and savour every experience we can to life through. I will try not to let the negative things weigh me down in life.

With all this being said, on this Thanksgiving Monday, I am thankful for all that I have and not to waste away any opportunity to let people I care about how much they mean to me.

Thanks Lord!
