Summer was a blur...seriously...

Okay, it's been several months since I've updated our blog, we've just been busy with....LIFE!

June
It was our birthdays. To celebrate, we ate Chinese dumplings on Yusuf's birthday with his family. As for me, this year is the BIG one, so we planned a birthday dinner at Old Country Inn on Unionville Main Street. Many friends were able to make it, and we enjoyed a dinner with gorgeous weather. The very next day, my good friend announced that she was expecting! That was such an exciting news!
Aside from our birthdays, it was also our Las Vegas trip from the 18th to 23rd. The trip was super awesome! It was great to have some time off and enjoy "no work" for a few days! Yusuf has been working super long hours, so taking a few days to clear our mind was truly necessary. The highlight from our trip was definitely the Grand Canyon day trip, O from Cirque du Soleil, and dinner at Bouchon (in Venetian). So memorable!

July
July was crazy for us. My choir was preparing for a competition in Montreal but at the same time, Yusuf and I were also fully engaged in our house search. On the night before my trip to Montreal, I left practise early to go see a house with Yusuf. It turns out that that's the house we purchased! I'm so glad that Yusuf was able to take care of all the details while I was in Montreal. Those few days was seriously a roller coaster for me:
Tuesday - first time looking at the house
Wednesday - put in the offer
Friday - price negotiation and seller's acceptance
This was such a memorable experience for us. A true case of teamwork!

Another memorable moment from July was during the Montreal trip, the manificent choirs and a concert displaying Eric Whittaker's work. There was a song about storms and while that was going on, the storm outside of the church was also going full-blast, which gave so much more depth to the performance (the thunder was very loud from outside and in).

Oh yeah, one more thing that happened in July, as I returned to work after the Montreal trip, I found out that my director has promoted me to a manager with broader responsibilities. I will be working with our customer teams and it is a really great experience for me to grow! How timely is God's providence? I'm really thankful of all that He has provided me!!!!

August
August is truly a blur. I just remember being extremely busy at work (+15 hour days + weekends), helping out in weddings, and getting ready all the paperwork for our closing date on August 27!!!! Eek!
