Happy New Year! I'm still a few hours early if you are in Toronto, but it's already the next morning in Hong Kong.
How did I spend my last day of 2006? I first had lunch with my highschool girlfriends at 海港城, then we ate dessert and then departed. At 3:30pm, I met up with fellowship friends to watch the movie 傷城 (梁朝偉﹐金成武) at 澳海城. The movie was so good! A little violent, but I liked the storyline (of course the two main characters too!)
Before dinner, I walked aimlessly in TST all by myself, which was good because I went to 金巴利道 where a lot of bridal shops are, so I had the chance to check out more wedding gowns and evening gowns.
Around 9 something, I finally met up with another highschool friend for dinner at a Japanese restaurant and then we had a walking frenzy. We then walked around TST for hours looking for a spot to countdown at. Most of the roads were blocked from traffic. I haven't experienced that in a while. We finally found a spot close enough to see in front of Peninsula Hotel around 11:40pm, so we decided to wait there to count down. Some people from the crowd would start to cheer, causing a wave effect along the Nathan Road, which was such a rush!
All of the sudden, the countdown started. 10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1! Happy New Year! Many people in the crowd were not prepared at all! Okay, now what? Do we leave? Do we stay?
We then went to MK for dessert then called it a night. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a seat on the bus, so I stood for another 1+ hour on heels...so tired.
It was truly a memorable Dec 31. I got to see many good friends whom I don't get to see in Toronto, and I have a friend who will be 無聊 with me...haha....(you know who you are)
